What can I Recycle?

Television Recycling

Televisions sets can contain up to 8 pounds of lead.  If you simply throw it out, once your TV is in the landfill, that harmful toxin is going to leach out.  That’s why television recycling is beginning to gain traction, but you still have to be careful to dispose of your TV with an ethical organization.  Here are some tips:

  1. Earth911.org has a comprehensive database of trusted recyclers that accept TVs.  Just type in your zip code and find the nearest option.
  2. Many retailers and manufacturers offer television recycling programs and often offer incentives on new TV sets when you donate your old one.
  3. Many non-profits or thrift stores will accept working TVs.
